RED WING, Minn. - Red Wing police responded to a report of loose cattle around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 61 and Plum Street.
Officers found and corralled six Holstein cows near the ADM processing facility. Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department contacted a local rancher to care for the animals until their owner could be found.
A Hager City farmer later called authorities and stated that he discovered upon reaching his destination the gate on his trailer was open and six cows were missing. No damage was reported and the cows were returned to their owner, police said.
