Dan Huffman, one of Fargo's top school administrators, said today he has taken a job in a Twin Cities school district.
After nearly 18 years in the Fargo School District, the assistant superintendent of business services starts July 1 at the Centennial School District in Circle Pines, Minn.
Huffman will be the director of business affairs at the 6,700-student school district, which serves the north metro area.
"I wasn't really job searching," he said today. "I wasn't out actively looking for something else to do. But there are some personal and family reasons for this being a good location."
On Monday, he submitted his resignation letter to Superintendent Rick Buresh. The School Board is expected to approve it tonight.

Huffman, who started in the district in 1992, has been questioned by board members in the last month for financial management decisions over overspending on software-related purchases.
Huffman has said, though, that did not influence his decision to resign. Neither board members nor administrators asked him to resign, they said.
