Indigenous farming conference slated

CALLAWAY, Minn. - The 2011 Great Lakes Indigenous Farming Conference is March 3-7 at the Maplelag Resort on the White Earth Reservation. The conference will be hosted by the White Earth Land Recovery Project.

CALLAWAY, Minn. - The 2011 Great Lakes Indigenous Farming Conference is March 3-7 at the Maplelag Resort on the White Earth Reservation. The conference will be hosted by the White Earth Land Recovery Project.

The cost to attend is $25 for one day, or $50 for the full conference.

Herbalists, gardeners, horticulturists, students and farmers are invited to attend to learn about soil, renewable energy, gardening and greenhouses.

Attendees will also hear about how indigenous nations are restoring traditional foods and working toward sustainable communities.
