Information on where college students can vote Nov. 5

College students who plan to vote in North Dakota must be U.S. citizens, at least 18, legal North Dakota residents and must have resided in their precinct for 30 days prior to the election.

Where to cast your ballot

In your hometown: If you attend college in your hometown and still live at home, vote in the precinct of your home.

If you attend a college outside your hometown, you may return home to vote or fill out an absentee ballot.

In your college town: If you live on campus, you may vote at the polling location in the neighborhood where your college residence is located, as long as you live there.

If you live off-campus, you may vote in the neighborhood where you live during the school year, as long as that is your legal residence.

Voting absentee

College students whose legal residence is in another state should contact their home state's election official for absentee voting guidelines.
