InForum poll finds UND fans want 'North Dakota'

You could call them the Magnificent Seven, depending on your viewpoint.

The UND nickname committee once again narrowed the list of prospective nicknames on Monday night , from 15 to 7.

Out of the proposed 15, InForum.com users overwhlemingly preferred "North Dakota" as the new moniker, with "Roughriders" coming in a distant second. More than 8,000 votes were counted.

Here are the top 7 in the poll:

North Dakota – 33.64% of total votes

Roughriders – 16.34%

North Stars – 16.15%

Green Hawks – 11.21%

Fighting Green – 6.49% 

Sundogs – 4.89%

Spirit – 1.91%

And InForum users seem to largely be on the same page as the nickname committee.
