FARGO – Fargo police responded to a burglary call involving marijuana and what may have been a fake gun early Friday, March 23, department spokeswoman Jessica Schindeldecker said.

Officers were sent to the 1200 block of 11½ Street North about 3:40 a.m., according to emergency dispatch logs.

When officers arrived, the victim told them that two masked men had entered the apartment and were rummaging through items, Schindeldecker said.

The victim told officers that one of the men had “a gun, pointed it at the ceiling, and fired the weapon,” Schindeldecker said.

However, police were unable to find any bullets or holes in the ceiling, “so that leads us to believe it was not a real gun,” Schindeldecker said.

The suspects then fled, and as they fled, they dropped a bag of marijuana outside of the residence, she said.

Schindeldecker said the victim reported not knowing the intruders. No injuries were reported, she said.
