Jacqueline Johnson (Skramstad)
On July 10, 2003, Jackie lost her battle against cancer with spirit, pride and dignity. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar, mother Stella, grandchildren, Anna, Olivia, and Kira.
On March 18, 1939, she was born to Oscar and Stella Skramstad and raised in Nome, North Dakota. She was the fourth of eight children of theirs. On July 1, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Sherman Johnson. They lived in Colorado and California while he was in the service. Upon finishing his tour, they moved to Valley City, N.D., where they raised their three children. In 1968 the Johnson family moved to Minnesota and made their home in the Blaine/Coon Rapids area. Jackie was employed at Target Corporation as a Human Resources Manager. After devoting 33 years to Target, Jackie retired in 2001. They are members of Peace Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids. Jackie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was gracious with her time to her family and attended all her grandchildren's sports, dance and school activities. She volunteered at church, at Blaine High School and in the community. Jackie enjoyed their annual trips to Nevada and traveling throughout the country as well as spending time with their loving friends. Jackie's parting words were, "Tell your children you love them everyday, I love you, I love you, I love you." She is survived by her husband, Sherman, children, Shelly (Ken) Walberg, Troy (Karen) Johnson, Nancy (Phil) Reichel, Grandchildren, JoCee, Jena, Jon Walberg, Alec, Sierra Johnson, Jordan, Jacson Reichel, Brothers/Sisters, Alvina (Ray) Miller, Leroy (Marlyne) Skramstad, JoAnn (Gerald) Sowden, Gerald (Sharon) Skramstad, Carol (James) Peterson, Sandra (Robert) Hanson, Barbara (William) Nogowski, Aunt Getta Evenson, Brothers and Sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, Special friends, Jean (Ron) Shasky, Patricia (Tony) Brozek and many friends. Special thanks to Allina Hospice and Mercy Hospital 2 West staff for all their care.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21, 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 20 Northdale Blvd., Coon Rapids, MN.
