Jaeger has message for employers

Al Jaeger, North Dakota's secretary of state, encourages employers to give their employees time to vote.

Many of the state's companies already emphasize the importance of voting, he said.

However, if a voter is a shift worker or works odd hours, he or she might find it difficult to get to the polls to vote, he said.

While not mandated, state law encourages employers to provide employees with the necessary time to vote, he said.

Cass County polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
