North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger announced Monday he'll seek his fourth term in office.
"I think we've done a good job for the last 11 years," said Jaeger, a Republican. "But there's a lot more that needs to be done."
The secretary of state oversees elections and registers businesses.
Jaeger announced his candidacy at press conferences Monday in Bismarck and at the Republican headquarters in downtown Fargo.
About 20 people, including Jaeger's family, Gov. John Hoeven, Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple and former Gov. Ed Schafer attended the Fargo news conference.

Jaeger, 59, said he has made the secretary of state's office more "business friendly" by increasing efficiencies and providing an online database for business registration information.
He said one of the biggest challenges facing the office is the Help America Vote Act, a federal law requiring the installation of new voting equipment at all polling places by December 2005.
"There's a lot of work to do with that," he said. "It's a major undertaking.
Jaeger, 59, was first elected to the post in 1992.
