Janssen now assistant principal for Kennedy

FARGO - Cheryl Janssen has been named assistant principal at Kennedy Elementary School for the 2012-13 school year, the Fargo School District announced.

FARGO - Cheryl Janssen has been named assistant principal at Kennedy Elementary School for the 2012-13 school year, the Fargo School District announced.

Janssen has been a teacher on administrative assignment at Centennial Elementary for the past year.

She replaces Matt Naugle, who took a position with the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton school district.

Janssen graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead. She holds a master's degree in education administration from Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

She began working in Fargo schools as a kindergarten teacher at Carl Ben Eielson Elementary School in 1995. She transferred to Roosevelt Elementary in 1997 and taught there until moving to the Horace Mann Elementary campus in 2008 after the two schools combined. In 2010, Janssen served as a student performance strategist and curriculum teacher leader.
