The Jazz Arts Group announced its 17th season, which opens Sept. 15 with a concert featuring guest vocalist Ernie Andrews. Other visiting musicians to perform with the group this season are saxophone player Denis Di-Blasio, trumpet player Wayne Bergeron, pianist Mulgrew Miller and trombonist John Fedchock.
The Springin' for Jazz annual fundraiser is slated for March 6. The group also presents a number of educational programs: an Early Bird Workshop for high school bands in October; Jazzerama, a workshop for middle school, high school and college students in November; and the History of Jazz clinic for area fifth graders.
