Jean Simmons
Jean Larson was born March 19, 1950, in Clay County, Minnesota, to Victor and Vera (Hanson) Larson. She lived with her family in Ulen area, and then moved to Hawley with her family in 1956, graduating from Hawley High School in 1968, then graduated from Moorhead Technical College. On December 6, 1969, she was married to Ted Simmons at Hawley Lutheran Church. Following their marriage they lived in Moorhead until moving to rural Glyndon in 1973. She was employed at Pioneer Mutual, then St. John's Hospital. Jean attended nursing school at Northwest Technical College in Twin Valley, Minnesota. She has been employed at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead since 1999.
She loved family, friends, spending time in her flower garden and her pets. She also loved traveling on motorcycle trips.
Jean died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota, at the age of 54. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Vera, and one sister, Nancy.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Simmons, Glyndon, MN; one son, Matt (Trina) Simmons, Fargo, ND; one daughter, Candace (Brad) Cegla, Donnelly, MN; one brother, Mark Larson, Fridley, MN; two sisters, LaVaye Tollefson, Glyndon, MN, and Dianne (Steve) Mounce, Hawley, MN.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 28, 2004, 5:00-7:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN, and one hour before services in the church.
Funeral service: Thursday, July 29, 2004, 10:30 AM, Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon, MN.
Interment: Hawley Cemetery.
