Jazz Arts Group program director Bob Anderson; North Dakota State University Little Country Theatre artistic director Donald E. Larew; and Mathison's graphic design and art supply store received Arts Advocate awards.

The council's annual awards ceremony and 35th anniversary celebration was Wednesday.

Award recipients are selected by members of the arts council for their outstanding efforts in creating an environment where the arts can flourish; developing an appreciation for and participation in the arts; and advocating for support of the arts. Each recipient received an original vase created by local ceramic artist Robert Kurkowski.

The Lake Agassiz Arts Council, organized in 1970, is an association of 50 arts providers, organizations and arts-related businesses.
