Lakes Legion to mark attacks anniversary

On the one-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, the Detroit Lakes American Legion will host a commemoration event.

The ceremony will take place at noon in the Old Holmes Historic Theater at 826 Summit Ave., according to information from the Legion post.

The event will recognize emergency services workers and military personnel, past and present. In addition to the ceremony, bells at Detroit Lakes churches will ring at the times of the attacks.
