Laurel Ann Kvilvang was born the daughter of Dale and the late, Diane (Altringer) Sauer on October 4, 1967 in Valley City, North Dakota. She attended school in Valley City and graduated in 1986. She was a 1990 graduate of North Dakota State University, Fargo, North Dakota.

She was joined in marriage to the love of her life, Nathan E. Kvilvang on July 8, 1988 in Sanborn, North Dakota. They made their home south of Sanborn until 1998, when they moved to Valley City.

The joy of her life was being a wife to Nathan and a mother to her son, Adam. Her love and devotion for the Lord colored every aspect of her life. She lived to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was evidenced by her love of family, her gift of hospitality and her kind and loving spirit. One of her most favorite pastimes was enjoying the beautiful sunsets at their lake home. She was in her glory when she was cooking for others or on a shopping spree with friends.

She was a member of New Life Assembly of God Church, where she was worship leader, Sunday School teacher and Bible study leader. She had served as president of the Washington School PTO and volunteered her time to many other organizations.

At the age of 36, Laurie passed from this life to heaven on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at Mercy Hospital, Valley City.

She is survived by her loving husband, Nathan and the apple of her eye, her son, Adam; her father, Dale and his wife Millie Sauer, Valley City; a brother, Mike (Kari) Sauer, Sanborn; two sisters, Mary (Tim) Kelley, Jacksonville, Florida and Lynda (Patrick) Brandt, St. Cloud, Minnesota; four nieces and seven nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Sauer; a son, Joshua; a daughter, Amanda; and her grandparents.

Friends and family may remember her from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City. A prayer service to celebrate her life will be held that evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Visitation will continue at the church, one hour prior to the service.

The funeral will be held at New Life Assembly of God Church, 520 Wintershow Road in Valley City, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003.

Funeral arrangements are by Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.
