Trial began Wednesday in Clay County District Court for a 54-year-old Moorhead man who faces two first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges for molesting a girl when she was 8 years old.

If convicted, Paul Frederick Lehr, 1411 S. 22nd Ave., faces a maximum 30-year sentence and/or a $40,000 fine for each charge.

A 17-year-old girl came forward with the allegations last January. Six other girls came forward after the first charges were filed, with seven other charges being filed less than three weeks later.

Nine men and four women were selected as the 13 jurors, including one alternate.

The trial will continue at 10 a.m. today.
