FARGO - A new video from local law enforcement is trying to give the public a "dose of reality" on the opioid issue.
On Wednesday, March 1, officials from the Fargo Police Department, Cass County Sheriff's Office and Prairie St. John's released their first public service announcement video on their collaborative opiate campaign.
The goal is to educate the public by saying prevention is key.
This first video talks about learning the signs of heroin and opiate abuse.
"Peeling away some of the stigma that comes with it, and getting people to talk about it, because they realize it's here in our communities, in our backyards, said Sgt. Tim Griggeman of the Cass County Sheriff's Office. "Might be our next-door neighbor, it might be a family member. We want to provide any assistance to start changing people's lives."
