MAHNOMEN, Minn. – A local man was killed early this morning when a train collided with his car, according to the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Department.
Timothy Goodman, 45, was crossing the Canadian Pacific railroad tracks at 140th Street just south of town around 3:30 a.m. when the accident happened. The train was not able to stop in time, the department said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to Grand Forks for an autopsy. The crash remains under investigation.
