MANTADOR, N.D. - A 42-year-old man from near here is in custody Thursday evening after authorities surround his farm in connection with a shooting the day before.
Jeffrey Kabella was taken into custody after Richland County authorities obtained a warrant earlier in the day for suspicion of attempted murder.
Chief Deputy Gary Ruhl said the incident started about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the suspect fired on another person who drove up to the farmstead. Ruhl said the driver suffered minor injuries from broken glass.
Ruhl said the area was cordoned off for several miles for safety and SWAT teams from Fargo and Fergus Falls, Minn.
