Fargo police arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the Monday night assault of a 15-year-old boy.
Information gathered from witnesses aided in the investigation and arrest Tuesday of Roger Allen Hellerud in the 700 block of 29th Street North in Fargo.
Police said a 15-year-old was beaten unconscious by suspects who witnesses originally described as three or four teenagers Monday at a north Fargo playground.
The boy's father reported at 8:22 p.m. that his son had been beaten by three or four white males, ages 14 to 16, outside Madison Elementary School, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
The 15-year-old victim, initially reported as being 13 years old, refused medical treatment, Lykken said.

It was unclear Tuesday night how many other suspects were involved, but police believe there will be more arrests or juvenile referrals, Sgt. Carlos Nestler said.
Police confirmed the incident was not a random act, but the relationship and motive for the attack are not being released.
Hellerud served time in jail for attempted theft in 2003, according to Minnesota court records. He was booked Tuesday into Cass County Jail and is being held without bond.
