Man found dead in Moorhead bus stop

A man who arrived in Fargo via bus Monday night was found dead in a Moorhead bus stop Tuesday morning, Moorhead police said.

Foul play is not suspected in the death of Homer G. Childs, 52, Moorhead Deputy Police Chief Bob Larson said, adding the remains have been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

Larson said it appeared Childs decided to go to sleep in a bus stop near the Moorhead Center Mall some time Monday night.

He said Childs, who is originally from Chicago, had no permanent address but he was known to stay at motels when he traveled to the Fargo-Moorhead area.
