Man gets five years in fleeing case

An 18-year-old from West Fargo was sentenced Friday in Clay County District Court to five years in prison in connection with a chase in Moorhead on Sept.

An 18-year-old from West Fargo was sentenced Friday in Clay County District Court to five years in prison in connection with a chase in Moorhead on Sept. 2.

LaSamuel Richardson III was earlier convicted at trial of numerous counts, including illegal possession of a weapon and fleeing charges.

According to court records, Richardson was arrested after fleeing from police in a car that struck the Ace Hardware Store in Moorhead after Richardson jumped out of the vehicle.

Police found a .40-caliber handgun in the car's glove box.

Richardson also faces a pending attempted murder charge in Cass County District Court stemming from a stabbing incident in West Fargo in August.
