BEMIDJI, MINN -- A man is in the hospital fighting for his life, after a crash on Highway 2 southeast of Bemidji at just before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 7th.

Minnesota State Patrol say 40 year old Nicole Sovde from Bemidji was driving a Jeep Liberty west on Highway 2.

74 year old Torrence Lillevold of Bemidji was driving a Jeep Cherokee south on the Vagabond Loop and went across Highway 2 in front of the Liberty.

Sovde tried to swerve to avoid Lillevold, but the vehicles collided.

The Cherokee spun and rolled onto the drivers side and stopped facing southwest in the median ditch.

Lillevold was taken to Sanford to be treated for life threatening injuries.

Sovde and a 14 year old passenger were also taken to Sanford to be treated for non life threatening injuries.
