A man convicted of a dozen felonies in Missouri in the 1990s has pleaded guilty to a federal weapons charge here, the U.S. attorney's office says.
Scott Owen, 38, of Springfield, Mo., was arrested in Fargo after he forced his way into a woman's home and robbed her of $300 at gunpoint in February, U.S. Attorney Drew Wrigley said.
Owen pleaded guilty Thursday to a federal charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Judge Ralph Erickson set sentencing for Sept. 2.
Wrigley said Owen's Missouri convictions, between 1991 and 1997, include tampering, burglary, receiving stolen property and stealing.
"The question could legitimately be asked, 'How is this guy even on the streets,' " Wrigley said. Owen faces a minimum of 15 years in prison on the latest charge, he said.
