Man pleads innocent to drug, gun charges

A 24-year-old Fargo man pleaded innocent Thursday to drug and firearms charges.

Joseph Malcolm Warner, 1204 44th St. S.W., entered the pleas after waiving a preliminary hearing in Cass County District Court.

Warner is accused of possessing methamphetamine, possessing it with the intent to deliver, possessing drug paraphernalia, giving false information to police and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Court documents state Warner was arrested Sept. 22 when police searched his vehicle after a traffic stop.

Warner gave them a false name and Social Security number, and officers planned to take him into custody on a city warrant for failing to pay a fine, court documents state.

Officers searched the car Warner had been driving and found a loaded 9-mm handgun and about two grams of meth, documents state.
