FERGUS FALLS, Minn. -- A New York Mills man with 25 DWI-related convictions pleaded not guilty Monday to the most recent charges against him.
Daniel Lee Boettcher, 50, has been held in the Otter Tail County Jail since his arrest Aug. 30, when he was stopped near an Ottertail bar riding a motorcycle.
Boettcher faces two counts of felony level first-degree DWI in Otter Tail County District Court.
He's being held in lieu of $20,000 bond.
Court records say a breath test showed Boettcher had a blood-alcohol level of .23 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .10 percent.

In 2002, a check of court records indicated Boettcher had 25 DWI-related convictions, the majority occurring in Minnesota beginning in the early 1980s.
Assistant Otter Tail County Attorney Nicole Hansen said Monday plea negotiations are ongoing and it's possible the case will settle before Boettcher's Dec. 10 trial.
Hansen said her office is still researching Boettcher's DWI history.
She said her office has found eight DWI-related convictions in the past 10 years.
Three prior convictions in the past decade would have been enough to enhance Boettcher's latest charges to the felony level, Hansen said.
