A Willow City, N.D., man has been sentenced to one year in prison for threatening East Central District Judge Lawrence Leclerc.

Authorities said Melvin Sanderson made the threat to jailers on March 19 after he appeared before Leclerc on a probation revocation.

Sanderson said his comments were taken out of context.

He pleaded guilty to terrorizing.
