MOORHEAD — A 37-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday, Dec. 18, in Clay County District Court on charges stemming from a police chase in June.

Jesse Jon Byzewski was sentenced to 173 days in jail on felony charges of fleeing from a police officer and first-degree damage to property, according to court records.

He was given credit for having served 173 days in jail and he was placed on four years of supervised probation.

Byzewski fled in a vehicle June 25, driving through a neighbor's fence in the process, when the U.S. Marshals High Plains Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest them at a residence in Moorhead, court documents show.

He was captured June 26 after a high-speed chase near Edmore, N.D., according to a U.S. Marshals press release at the time of the arrest.
