FARGO - Police say a man sustained a severe cut to the head when he was hit with a drinking glass during a bar fight early today in south Fargo.

Officers were called at 1:34 a.m. to the Windbreak Saloon, 3150 39th St. S.

They arrived to find a 25-year-old Fargo man bleeding from a severe head laceration, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

The victim told police that an acquaintance of his was arguing with several people on the dance floor.

The victim said he went over to see if everything was OK and began arguing with the suspect. They got into a shoving match, and the suspect hit the victim with the drinking glass, the victim told police.

Gregory Paul Johnson, 40, of Fargo, was found at his residence and arrested for aggravated assault and brought to the Cass County Jail, Lykken said.

The victim was treated for a severe head laceration at Innovis Health.

Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the assault, Lykken said.
