Man thrown 20 feet in lawn mower-pickup accident

A Fargo man was arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries Friday night after striking a man on a riding lawn mower with his pickup truck.

A Fargo man was arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries Friday night after striking a man on a riding lawn mower with his pickup truck.

According to a news release, Fargo Police responded to a report of a hit and run at about 7:49 p.m. Friday. Witnesses said a pickup truck was eastbound in the 1800 block of 20th Avenue South. A man on a riding lawn mower drove onto the roadway and was struck by the pickup.

Witnesses said the man, who was seriously injured, landed about 20 feet from the point of impact. The driver of the pickup drove away without checking on the victim.

Cody Joseph Larkin, 37, of Fargo, was later arrested. The case is still under investigation.
