North Dakota State's men's basketball team returned to its high-scoring ways with a 81-64 Summit League victory Saturday night over Western Illinois before 3,630 fans at the Bison Sports Arena.
After pulling out a 55-52 win over Indiana Purdue-Indianapolis shooting only 37 percent, the Bison - the 11th highest scoring team in the nation - shot 54 percent to secure first place of the Summit League with a 5-1 record.
Ben Woodside led the Bison with 26 points followed by Brett Winkelman with 13 and Mike Nelson with 13.
The Bison improved to 10-5 overall while Western Illinois fell to 6-10 and 3-2 in the Summit League.
