Judging by the crowd it drew last spring, Fargo's first communitywide forum on methamphetamine was almost too successful for its own good.

Rooms hosting the most popular seminars overflowed with people, forcing many to watch and listen from the hallway. Organizers had planned for 500, but 4,000 came, straining the confines of the Civic Center.

Space shouldn't be a problem Thursday, when organizers follow that event with its encore, "A Community Toolbox to Fight Meth: Round 2."

The event, which runs from 6 to 9 p.m., will be at the Fargodome, so people shouldn't feel so crowded this time around, said Fargo Police Chief Chris Magnus.

This event will offer more resources and displays than the first one, said Carol Grimm of Fargo Cass Public Health. More than 50 display booths are expected, along with five workshops, which begin at 6:15 p.m. and again at 7:45 p.m.

Mascots from area sports teams and local college student athletes have been invited to join the dozens of area law enforcement agents and health professionals.

Free parking and child care will also be available. To see more about what's planned, visit www.fightmeth.org .

Even the people who attended last time should visit the second "Toolbox to Fight Meth" because of the additions, Magnus said.
