Moorhead's Migrant Health Services Inc. will receive a $489,295 grant as part of nearly $9.2 million in federal grants for the state of Minnesota through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., announced that Minnesota will receive the grants for health care centers as part of the Recovery Act Capital Improvement Program, which provides grants to support the construction, repair and renovation of more than 1,500 health center sites nationwide.

Health centers can also use the funds to purchase new equipment or health information technology systems, and to adopt and expand the use of electronic health records.
