Travis Almer was promoted to the rank of senior airman with the North Dakota Air National Guard.
Almer joined the Air Guard in 2001 and serves with the 119th Civil Engineering Squadron as a firefighter.
He is a 1998 graduate of West Fargo High School and the son of Rick and Cheryl Almer, West Fargo.
Habiger participates in Sea Soldier '02
Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer Gerald D. Habiger recently participated in exercise Sea Soldier '02 while assigned to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Sea Soldier '02 was a 12-day live-fire training exercise with soldiers from the Western Front Regiment of the Royal Army of Oman.
Habiger is a 1982 graduate of Enderlin (N.D.) High School and joined the Marine Corps in 1986.
Smallbeck arrives for mechanic training
Army National Guard Pfc. Christopher J. Smallbeck has arrived at Aberdeen (Md.) Proving Ground for the track vehicle mechanic advanced individual training course.
He is a 1996 graduate of Dakota Prairie High School, Petersburg, N.D., and a 2000 graduate of Northwest Technical College, East Grand Forks, Minn.
Smallbeck is the son of John and MaryJane Smallbeck, Aneta, N.D.
Ziegler makes Superintendent's List
Air Force Cadet Eric L. Ziegler has earned placement on the Superintendent's List at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.
