CROSBY, Minn. -- A 34-year-old man is facing two criminal sexual conduct charges after Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of a sexual assault.

Ricky Matthew Venne allegedly lured his daughter’s 16-year-old friend to his bedroom to sexually assault her in the early hours of Jan. 10, according to a criminal complaint filed in Crow Wing County District Court.

The victim says in the complaint that Venne woke her up shortly before 6 a.m. then allegedly pulled the girl into his bedroom and pushed her onto his bed.

The girl escaped and told her friend about the incident, the complaint says. Deputies with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office found Venne at the house next door.

Venne was charged Friday in Crow Wing County District Court with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct using force or coercion. He also was charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct against someone more than 16 but less than 18 years old, and where the defendant is more than three years older than the complainant and in a position of authority over the complainant.
