HILLSBORO, N.D. – A Minneapolis man has been killed in a rollover accident just north of here.
North Dakota State Highway Patrol Sgt. Greg Smith said the crash happened at about 7:42 p.m. Monday on Interstate 29 at mile marker 108, about 4 miles north of Hillsboro.
Smith said the victim was headed south in his black 2007 Chevrolet HHR along the interstate in a section that had been restricted to one lane due to construction.
Witnesses reported seeing the car passing on the shoulder at high speeds when he lost control while passing a semi, entered the west ditch, and rolled several times before coming to rest facing east on four wheels.
The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
