Jack Koblas writes about a colorful chapter in Minnesota history in "Minnesota Grit: The Men Who Defeated the James-Younger Gang."
The book doesn't concentrate on the gang that tried to rob the Northfield First National Bank in 1876, but pays tribute to the men of the area who resisted the outlaws and formed posses to pursue them across the state.
Two members of the gang were killed in Northfield; the Younger brothers were captured later at Hanska Slough.
Published by North Star Press, St. Cloud, Minn., the 112-page softcover book costs $12.95 and is available by calling (888) 820-1636.
