DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – A Minot, N.D., man stabbed three men from Canada early Thursday at a campground near the WE Fest concert venue, leaving them with wounds that were not life-threatening, the Becker County Sheriff’s Department said.

Sheriff Kelly Shannon said the suspect, Aaron Williams, 32, was apparently intoxicated when he shocked a few people with a handheld Taser at the Hilltop Campground across the road from the WE Fest country music festival.

Those people later confronted him, and an altercation ensued. “He took out a knife and started slashing them, and three of them received cuts on the arm,” Shannon said.

About 1:45 a.m. Thursday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the campground. The three Canadian victims were taken to a hospital, where they received stitches and were released, Shannon said.

Williams was arrested, and he was set to be arraigned Friday, authorities said.
