Missing Pembina County man found dead

Neil Kiemele, 18, had been missing since 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, according to the Pembina County Sheriff's Office.

CAVALIER, N.D. — The Pembina County Sheriff's Office has notified the public that a missing man was found dead Friday, Oct. 22.

According to a statement from the Sheriff's Office, the family of 18-year-old Neil Kiemele would like to thank everyone who assisted in the search and the outpouring of support they received from the residents of Pembina County.

Kiemele had last been seen around 10 p.m. Thursday night. A Silver Alert was issued, and a search was conducted the following morning.

WDAY News has reported that Kiemele was found by searchers in the Tongue River about two miles away from his home.
