MAYVILLE, N.D. - There will be a community mitigation workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. June 11 in the Mayville Armory, 332 Center Ave. S.
On hand to discuss flood maps, flood-fighting home improvement projects, benefits of flood insurance, possible funding sources and other issues will be Mayor Donald Moen, mitigation experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and a loan specialist from the Small Business Administration.
They will talk and answer questions about steps people can take to protect their homes inside and out from the effects of floods, severe storms and other weather-related threats.
