The chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is recommending tuition increases of no more than 3 percent next year.
Under the recommendation, full-time students at Minnesota State University Moorhead would see a tuition increase of about $170. Full-time students at Minnesota State Community and Technical College would see a tuition increase of $84 next year.
The tuition proposal includes a one-time discount from federal stimulus funds that lowered tuition by an average of $88 across the system.
Chancellor James McCormick will recommend the tuition increases to the MnSCU Board of Trustees in July.
The board will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget and recommended tuition increases from 1-3 p.m. June 17 at the system office in St. Paul.
