Cass County Auditor Michael Montplaisir has been elected president of the North Dakota Association of Counties.
The organization held its annual convention recently in Bismarck.
As president, Montplaisir is responsible for the organization's governing body. He also will work with the state's 53 counties to secure state funds, lobby for legislation and assist in implementing legislation passed by the state and federal governments.
He has been Cass County's auditor since 1990.
