Moorhead, Fargo teens selected as Presidential Scholars

A Shanley High School senior and a Moorhead High School teen are among 141 Presidential Scholars, the highest-profile national honor for graduating seniors.

A Shanley High School senior and a Moorhead High School teen are among 141 Presidential Scholars, the highest-profile national honor for graduating seniors.

John B. Kenney of Fargo won in the general academic achievement category. Rachel Clausen, an alumna of Trollwood Performing Arts School and Gooseberry Park Players, became Presidential Scholar in the Arts. She is one of three winners in the Theater category.

The winners were announced today.

The winners will attend a White House ceremony with President Barack Obama. Clausen will also perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in June.
