A Moorhead man has been charged in Clay County District Court with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Mosa A. Ahmed, 23, 1805 20th St. S., is accused in a court complaint of causing personal injury to a woman in attempting to accomplish sexual penetration by use of force.
According to the complaint, a woman told Moorhead police May 27 that she was assaulted by a man who forced his way into her apartment.
The woman said the man initially approached her outside of her apartment building and struck up a conversation with her.
The woman said when she later took out some garbage she again encountered the man and spoke briefly with him.

She said the man followed her to her apartment and as she tried to close her door he forced his way in.
The woman said the man then proceeded to assault her sexually and physically, at one point striking her very hard in the face.
The complaint said police took photographs of the woman showing bruising on her face and other parts of her body.
According to the complaint, an investigation led police to Ahmed and he was interviewed by detectives.
When asked about the woman, Ahmed responded "I didn't hurt her, I didn't kill her," the complaint said.
According to the complaint, Ahmed told police he had just met the woman that day and he had had sex with her.
A warrant has been issued for Ahmed's arrest.
