Moorhead man accused of choking, biting woman

MOORHEAD - Police arrested a Moorhead man on suspicion of felony domestic assault early today after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife, choked her and bit her.

MOORHEAD - Police arrested a Moorhead man on suspicion of felony domestic assault early today after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife, choked her and bit her.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 1:41 a.m. in the 2400 block of 3rd Ave. N., according to a news release from Lt. Jim Nielsen.

Joe Rodriguez, 24, was arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail. Police are recommending he face charges of second-degree domestic assault and domestic assault by strangulation.

The victim, who is in a relationship with Rodriguez, was treated at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Her name was not released.
