MOORHEAD – A Moorhead man is charged with forcible criminal sexual conduct upon a Hitterdal grandmother after allegedly dragging her from the bed she was sharing with her granddaughter, throwing her on her own bed and sexually assaulting her, according to prosecutors.
The man, Glenn John Braseth, 51, was charged Monday in Clay County District Court with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
A statement of probable cause filed with the criminal charges states Clay County deputies were dispatched Saturday to the woman’s home, where she told them Braseth was angry with her about a trip she took earlier to drop off another granddaughter in Jamestown, N.D.
When she arrived at her home in Hitterdal, Braseth, who’d been drinking alcohol all night, continued arguing with her, she told deputies.
She was trying to sleep in the bed with her other granddaughter when Braseth picked her up, ignoring her while she told him to stop, and carried her to her room, where he put her on the bed.

There, she told deputies, Braseth pinned her down and sexually assaulted her repeatedly until about 4 a.m., when she was able to convince him to let her up.
She called 911 and reported the sex assault, telling the dispatcher she thought Braseth was coming and hanging up abruptly, court documents say.
Court documents say Braseth denied having any sexual contact with the victim.
His bail was set at $30,000 without conditions, and $15,000 under conditions that include Braseth consuming no alcohol and having no contact with the victim.
His next court appearance is set for Aug. 27.
