The city of Moorhead is planning a series of meetings in February to inform residents about flood preparation plans similar to an approach taken in the spring of 2010.
The city established neighborhood zones last year to enhance communication and resource allocation during a flood.
The same would happen this year if conditions warrant and zone meetings are planned for Feb. 22 and Feb. 24. The meetings will be at Moorhead's Courtyard by Marriott, with four zones being covered each night.
Details are still being worked out, including which zones would be discussed each night. The Feb. 22 meeting will mean the cancellation of a meeting of the City Council committee of the whole set for the same night. A City Council committee of the whole meeting set for Tuesday has also been canceled. It was canceled because of the likelihood a city staff member instrumental to a discussion item could not make it to the meeting.
