Moorhead Mayor Mark Voxland has proclaimed today "Roland Barden Appreciation Day" in honor of the Minnesota State University Moorhead president, who will retire July 1.
The proclamation recognizes Barden's service as MSUM president for the past 14 years and states that he was instrumental in improving the campus and enhancing the school's partnership with the city.
"Dr. Barden has been a compassionate leader who has spent years advocating for students and has been recognized as a leader in public higher education in Minnesota for ensuring academic program excellence and financial stability at the University," the proclamation states.
