The Moorhead School District is preparing to kick off the school year with a series of back-to-school nights for students and their families.
Horizon Middle School, 3601 12th Ave. S., hosts its event from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28.
Sixth-graders can visit classrooms from 4 to 4:30 p.m. A "house meeting" is scheduled from 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Seventh-graders can tour classrooms from 5:30 to 6 p.m., with a "house" meeting scheduled from 6 to 6:30 p.m.
Eighth-graders can visit their classrooms from 7 to 7:30 p.m., with a house meeting from 7:30 to 8 p.m.

Moorhead elementary schools - Ellen Hopkins, 2020 11th St. S; Robert Asp, 910 11th St. N.; and S.G. Reinertsen, 1201 40th Ave. S. - will host back-to-school events from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30.
Moorhead High, 2300 4th Ave. S., will hold back-to-school one night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6.
The Red River Area Learning Center - which offers alternative learning programs from the traditional school setting - will hold registration from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 14 and 15.
