WASHINGTON, D.C. - North Dakota has been awarded a $356,211 federal grant to fight underage drinking, the state's U.S. congressional delegation announced Friday.
The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice with funds appropriated by Congress. Its purpose is to assist state and local authorities in efforts to enforce laws against the purchase and consumption of alcohol by minors, according to a press release from Sens. Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad and Rep. Earl Pomeroy.
